I've been on a fruit smoothie kick this week. Instead of taking coffee to work in the morning, I've been putting my smoothie in my travel mug which keeps it nice and cold so I can enjoy it throughout the morning. {It generally does not last very long, though!} You can find tons of smoothie recipes all over the Internet, but hopefully you will give this one a try! Don't be scared of the flax seed and wheat germ. They really do not change the texture or taste of the smoothie, and they are such a healthy addition!
Healthy Fruit Smoothie
yield: 1 serving
What You Need
handful of ice
6 oz. yogurt, whatever flavor you prefer
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup milk or pineapple juice
1 Tbsp. flax seed
1 Tbsp. wheat germ
What To Do
1. Place ice in blender and allow to soften for a few minutes for easier blending.
2. Add remaining ingredients and blend until well-combined and smooth.
