*UPDATE* Photos added 8/25/13.
I worked at an ice cream shop for 10 years, but somehow I am still not sick of ice cream. I love it. I cannot buy it too often to keep in my freezer or it will be eaten much too quickly.
Hot fudge is always good on ice cream, and this homemade version is exceptional. I did not, however, put it on any ice cream since I didn't have any. It made a really scrumptious dip/topping for fresh strawberries, though!
It was creamy, smooth, sweet, and oh so delicious. It's also a really simple and quick recipe to make. After sitting in the fridge, it does harden up a bit, so just pop it in the microwave or sit the jar in some hot water and then give it a good stir.
Thinking about Christmas gifts yet? Put this sauce in a pretty glass jar, and there you go!
Hot Fudge Sauce
From: http://www.simply-gourmet.com/2012/11/232-hot-fudge-sauce.html
1 stick butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk {I used fat free and it worked great.}
In a medium pan, melt the butter on medium heat. Stir in the chocolate chips and add the sweetened condensed milk. Stir until everything is melted, combined and the mixture looks silky.
If you have any leftovers, they can be stored covered in the fridge for up to a month.
